michael cunningham
The wonderful novel, The Hours, for which he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize made his name known to the public at large, and the film by Stephen Daldry adapted from that book has guaranteed him universal success. However, Cunningham had already written three other important novels prior to The Hours; one of which is the moving and daring A Home at the End of the World, which too had become a film directed by Michael Mayer. In 2005 he published the fascinating Specimen Days and recently has adapted for the screen the novel Evening by Susan Minot.
